چکیده
There is a global trend toward intensive livestock breeding, which tends to increase the microbial load in environment as well presence of volatile compounds and dust that can cause health issues. Cattle major producer Escherichiacoli (E. coli), group foodborne bacteria associated with severe human diseases, Neuquén province Argentina has one highest rates uremic hemolytic syndrome incidence world. This paper presents results two sampling events E. coli at 39 sites La Paisana ranch (LPR), Añelo (Neuquén), considering locations inside pens, upwind, downwind feedlot different time steps, using Microflow α equipment. The approximately 600 heads clean controlled installations. field experiment included airborne aerosol deposition concentration passive active methods. Concentrations were also estimated an atmospheric dispersion model. During experiment, counts up 2970 CFU/m3 obtained cattle stockyards 111 distance 100 m.

Sulfur Toxicity in Feedlot Cattle
Introduction: Sulfur is an important component of many functions in the body and is an essential nutrient for beef cattle. It is an important part of the amino acids methionine, cysteine, and cystine. The B-vitamins thiamine and biotin also contain sulfur. Rumen microbes require sulfur for their normal growth and metabolism. A large portion of the sulfur found in typical feedlot diets is a comp...
متن کاملLiver Abscesses in Feedlot Cattle: A Review1,2
Liver abscesses in slaughtered beef cattle result from aggressive grain-feeding programs. The incidence, averaging from 12 to 32% in most feedlots, is influenced by a number of dietary and management factors. Liver abscesses represent a major economic liability to producers, packers, and ultimately consumers. Besides liver condemnation, economic impacts include reduced feed intake, reduced weig...
متن کاملCopper Deficiency in Feedlot Cattle
This study was conducted on 25 animals randomly selected from a herd with 40 feedlot cattle, which had poor growth, rough hair coat, and change in the colour of the hair coat. Blood samples were collected from the vena jugularis into the tubes containing Na2EDTA for the determination of plasma copper concentration and blood profile. Feed samples were also tested for copper, zinc, and molybdenum...
متن کاملPrevalence and concentration of Campylobacter in rumen contents and feces in pasture and feedlot-fed cattle.
Campylobacter are important human foodborne pathogens known to colonize the gastrointestinal tract of cattle. The incidence of Campylobacter in cattle may be seasonal and may vary among age groups and type (beef versus dairy). Less is known about other factors that could influence the prevalence, colonization site, and shedding of Campylobacter in cattle. The objectives of this study were to ev...
متن کاملVitamins For Feedlot Cattle
✓ B-vitamin requirements of feedlot cattle are not known. Stress and/or illness can increase requirements, resulting in shortterm deficiencies. B-vitamin supplementation, particularly in the first 10 days after arrival in the feedlot, may improve performance and/or reduce morbidity. Depending on the Bvitamin, supplementation may alleviate nutrient deficiencies of rumen microbes, or of the anima...
